Privacy Notice
This notice explains how information may be handled when visitors contact Caucasus Affairs or use browser-based request tools.
Information Voluntarily Provided
Caucasus Affairs may receive information that a visitor voluntarily sends by email, such as name, title, institution, country, official email address, request purpose, and message content.
Browser-Based Tools
The Government Access Request Console and Dossier Tools are designed to prepare structured text inside the visitor’s browser. These tools do not, by themselves, store submitted form information on the website server. If the visitor chooses to send an email, the information is transmitted through the visitor’s email client or email service.
Purpose of Processing
Information received by email may be used to respond to protocol requests, verification inquiries, policy briefing requests, country desk review requests, secure review room access requests, or related institutional communication.
Sensitive Information
Visitors should not send sensitive personal, legal, financial, governmental, diplomatic, or restricted information unless a controlled review route has been agreed. Caucasus Affairs may request that sensitive records be handled through a more appropriate channel.
Retention and Deletion
Correspondence may be retained for review, documentation, continuity, due diligence, or institutional record purposes. A sender may request correction or deletion of personal information, subject to legitimate record-keeping and legal considerations.
Contact
Privacy-related questions may be sent to protocol@caucasusaffairs.org with the subject line “Privacy Request”.
